Marla Aboulafia was born and raised in Long Island, New York.

She is a graduate of Connecticut College with a B.A. in Psychology and is the owner and founder of MRA Interiors, a full-service interior design firm.

As an “empty nester” with two grown children of her own, Marla found herself thinking back to their childhood and the books they loved to read.  Writing has always been a passion and after completing some classes, she gravitated towards children’s picture books, captivated by their special ability to engage a child’s imagination and create lasting impact.

Marla now resides in North Stamford, CT where she lives with her husband Matthew and 2 dogs Mindy and Rudy.  While still managing her interior design business, she is enjoying having more time to devote to her writing.  Fiona’s Fabulous Freckles marks Marla’s second published book.
